Indoor Bowls Open day September 27/28 2025

Dorchester Bowls are delighted to announce an Indoor Bowls Open Weekend. The Club invites anybody interested in the sport of bowls to come along and give it a go on either Saturday, 27 September 2025 or Sunday, 28 September 2025 starting at 10 am and ending at 2 pm.
Our experienced coaches will be on hand to give you a taster session. Absolutely no previous experience is required, however proficient bowlers are more than welcome.
We will supply all the equipment needed but you will require a thick pair of socks to wear on the bowling carpet. For people with disability there are playing aids and special wheelchairs for use on the rinks. Please note that there is free car parking at the club.

Bowls is a sport suitable for all ages from 8 to 90 plus! Dorchester Bowls Club membership includes a thriving Junior Group (age 8 to 18), some excellent younger players who regularly compete for national honours plus many more mature players who thrive in the well-organised Club internal leagues. The Club is a great way to keep fit, meet people and join in the Club’s many social activities.

All participants will be offered a free hot drink and slice of cake! The Club’s well-stocked bar will be open from 11 am and a variety of soft drinks will be on sale.

After the Open Day we will be offering a course of 5 sessions of coaching starting on Saturday 4 October 2025. Two Saturday sessions are available: 9:30 am to 11:30 am and 11:30 am to 13:30 pm. At the end of the course, we will encourage you to become Club Members, with a special concessionary joining rate.
