Dorchester Invitational Drawn Pairs 2025

Congratulations to Alex Dytham and Roger Nicholas winners of the Dorchester Invitational Drawn Pairs 2025.

Dorchester BC hosted the Dorchester Invitational Drawn Pairs 2025 event on the Saturday 19 April 2025 from 9:30. Where 32 bowlers (including Gary Fountain 2025 National Men's O60 Pairs and Fours Champion and Dorchester's own Martin Puckett and Ryan Nash 2025 National Men's Open Pairs Runners-Up) will competed for cash prizes.

Matches consist of 2 4 end sets. 3 points for a win and a point for draw
Top 2 in each group qualify for the quarter finals with predefined draw for the knock out stages.

Atherley Trophy 2024/5

On Saturday 12 April 2025 Dorset Ladies played Norfolk Ladies in the National Final of the Atherley Trophy at Nottingham. The Dorset team recovered from a slow start but couldn't quite catch up and finished runners-up losing 114-124.
Congratulations to Linda Hill, Sandra Hubbard and Sue Lofthouse who were part of the Dorset team.

National Finals 2024/5

The EIBA National Finals are being staged at Nottingham over the next 3 weeks.  We are represented in 5 of the Men's events.

Tues 1st April 13.30 Open Pairs - Ryan Nash & Martin Puckett beat Nick Brett & Lewis Baker(Huntingdon) in the last 16 Round.  They then beat Sam Tindall (Egham) in the Quarter-final and Les Gillett (Nottingham) in the Semi-Final, before losing to Paul Hartley & David Bolt (South Shields) in a 1 end tie-break in the Final.  Live scores
Fri 4th April 17.30 Two-Wood Singles - Martin Puckett beat Glenn. E Williams(St. Neots & District) 21-10 in the last 16 Round.  He then beat Kevin Smith(Atherley) 21-11 in the Quarter-final and Paul Hartley(South Shields) 21-15 in the Semi-Final, before losing to Sam Tolchard (Torquay Utd) 17-21 in the Final.  Live scores

County Mixed League

In the first game of the County Mixed League  on Sunday 3 November 2024 Dorchester picked up all 6 points in a 39 to 25 victory against Bridport IBC.

Catering Opportunity

Dorchester Bowls Club has a unique opportunity for a self employed Caterer. This is on a franchise basis with significant scope.
We are looking for a person or persons to run this franchise for a 5 day period Monday to Friday with the occasional weekends for special matches.  The applicants must be adequately qualified with the necessary level of certification required by the Local Council in their Health and Hygiene Certificates.

Dorchester Bowls Club is a premier bowls club in Dorset and has a reputation for giving a warm and friendly welcome to all visitors as well as past and present members. It is located at the Sandringham Sports Centre off Armada Way in Dorchester, only eight miles from Dorset's Jurassic Coast. The Club provides six indoor rinks and an outside green which can accommodate up to eight rinks.
