Christmas/New Year at Dorchester Bowls Club
The club will only be shut on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day this year.
On the days we are open the bar and kitchen will be open from 10am-2pm and along side this we have some bowls game to participate in.
All members are invited and, if they wish, can bring family members to join in.
The kitchen will aim to serve the following food items
Bacon Rolls - £2.50
Soup & a Roll - £2.50
Jacket Potato - £2.00, with Cheese or beans £2.50
There will be ‘Bowls’ based games for everyone to have a go at!
Dress Code will be ‘relaxed’ – the only rule will be “No outdoor shoes on the playing surface”.
Games.
There will be three games for people to play from 10:00 – 14:00 each day.
These are based roughly on bowling skills.
It will cost £1 to have a go at all 3 games.
People can have as many goes as they like.
A ‘score’ is the total of points for each of the 3 games.
Christmas Tournament
On the 28th December (Sunday), Vicki is going to try to run a Christmas bowls tournament, either drawn pairs or triples.
To sign up please see the social board.
Pairs / teams will be picked by drawing lots.
It is hoped to run the competition on a 'round robin' basis with prize money for the winning team.
The competition will commence at 14:00
The number of ends per match and the number of rounds to be played will depend on the number of entries.
The cost to enter will be £5 per person.
£2.50 will go to the club as a rink fee.
£2.50 will be retained as prize money.
