GUIDELINES FOR RESUMPTION OF INDOOR BOWLING

Your Executive Committee are delighted to announce

Recommencement of Indoor Bowling from 24 May 2021,

Initially for roll ups with every other rink being used namely – 1, 3, 4 and 6

Time slot –2 hours on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9-11.00, 1.30- 3.30 and

Monday and Friday 6.30- 8.30

The Bowls Committee will consult Indoor Members to gauge the interest in starting summer leagues.

There will be no rink fees until October 1st 2021 and

from October 1st 2021 payment of rink fees will be by rink voucher ONLY- no cash

A maximum of players twenty-four players on rinks at any one time (assuming average of six people per rink who may be from different households)

ALL BOWLING MUST BE PRE-BOOKING

The Committee is anxious not to be seen to be imposing stringent regulations, when welcoming members back to indoor bowling but at the same time are conscious of the duty of care to provide a safe and secure environment for the benefit of members to operate

in accordance with the terms of guidance and restrictions as set out by the Government and EIBA.

Accordingly, the following rules will apply to all members

Arrival + Departure for Bowlers and Spectators

YOU MUST WEAR A FACE COVERING AT ALL TIMES except when you are on the rink –Medical exemptions will be permitted

Take pathway by football changing rooms; wait (socially distanced) by outside lobby door to see if there is anyone coming out - entry through club house main entrance –hand sanitiser just inside first lobby door on left-hand side; and use phone on “QR” notice on Right hand side.
Proceed straight ahead to opened bowls hall door by rink 1, turn left and proceed behind rink to your allocated rink.

Arrive in bowling clothes and change shoes behind rink- chairs behind rinks 1 and 3, alongside rinks 4 and 6- sanitise equipment used before leaving with wipes provided.

Exit via the lounge.

Toilets

Please use the Men’s and Ladies toilets nearest the Offices.

The changing rooms at both ends of the building will be closed and out of bounds.

Please clean toilets after use- Bacterial hand soap, Sanitiser gel available for cleaning hands and wipes for surfaces – do not put wipes in toilet.
Rinks and equipment

Rinks used will be limited to 1,3,4 and 6- rinks 2 and 5 will be kept clear,

We will be playing with 4 metre T’s - leaving 28.6 metres between the “T’s”

Social distancing rules continue to apply.

Coloured marking spots will indicate where players may stand when not bowling or controlling the head
2 Jacks and 2 Mats must be used, on each rink move jacks with feet – Only one nominated person shall handle the Mat. Only one nominated person shall handle the Jack placement on each rink and one nominated person to do measuring.
Do not handle anyone else’s bowls; use feet to move bowls.

Use sanitiser spray and wipes provided for equipment before and after playing including the scoreboards – spray perimeter of mat only

These rules have been designed to reduce the risk of cross infection as much as possible.

The regulations will be notified to all members and posted within the club.

If the Bar and or Kitchen is open, the lounge bar area will be set up for social distancing and all refreshments will be table service only. Order forms will be available behind the rinks, collected whilst you are playing and will be available when you are finished, on a designated table.

Please be considerate and leave in time for rink changeover- in order that cleaning can be done in between

The club will make every effort to enable members to enjoy their bowling, but it is up to all members to do the right thing and these rules will be kept under constant review
