Dorchester Open Singles Circuit 2023

Dorchester hosted an Open Singles Circuit event over the weekend 8/9 April 2023, where 64 of the top bowlers in the country competed for large cash prizes. After 2 days of good quality and entertaining bowls the final came down to a shootout between Martin Pucket of Dorchester and Gary Fountain from Dolphin IBC. Local favourite and British Isles Indoor Singles Champion Martin Puckett came out victorious by 2 sets to 0. In addition to the spectators at the venue, numerous people kept up to date with progress throughout the 2 days via the link to the live scoring. The finalists are pictured with Dorchester Bowls Club President Brian Tucker.

A big thank you to all the volunteers who gave up their time to make the event a great success especially the volunteer markers, Alexander and his team of Umpires, Joyce in the kitchen and Robbie and Jo in the bar and Ged on the live scores.

Dorchester is due to host an Open Singles Circuit event on the weekend 8-9 April 2023. Where 64 of the top bowlers in the country (including Dorchester’s own Martin Puckett 2022 National Men’s Singles Champion) will compete for large cash prizes. Details of the draw are available on the OSC draw page.

We need 6 volunteer markers to mark the first games on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday from 9:30am and Sunday from 8:45am. After each game, the losing player will mark their opponent’s next game so it’s only the first set of matches which need covering. Then you can relax and watch the rest of the action.

Darren Nutman wins Dorchester OSC Tournament

Dorchester Bowls Club hosted the Open Singles Circuit Tournament sponsored by Concorde Flooring, Ceilings and Partitions on the weekend 17-18 April 2022. 64 of the top bowlers from England and Wales competed for £1000 first prize. After 2 days of good quality and entertaining bowls the final came down to a shootout between 2 Dorchester bowlers Martin Puckett and Darren Nutman, with Darren coming out on top to become 2022 Dorchester Open Singles Tournament Champion. In addition to the spectators at the venue, numerous people kept up to date with progress throughout the 2 days via the link to the live scores.
